Girls Weightlifting: Distircts

In Land O’ Lakes at Sunlake High School, the Palmetto High Girls weightlifting team attend districts meet on Saturday, January 28. Palmetto girls competed against six other schools.

There were 15 girls on the team that made it to the district’s competition. With this small of a team it was easier to see all the progress the girls have made since the beginning of the year.

After the meet, most of the girls agreed that the meet should go “pretty quick” due to there not being a lot of girls on each team. They were all wrong due to the fact that their team and other teams had heavier weights compared to the county meet. Every girl had improved on their weights which made the meet very competitive.

Some of Palmetto weightlifting girls left with two medals, but everyone left knowing that they have improved since the beginning of the season.
