State Fair 2023 Recap

It’s been almost 3 weeks since the Florida State Fair packed its bags and went off, but looking back at it, was it worth the visit, and should you attend next year?

The Florida State Fair has been around for 119 years, hosting its first event back in 1904, but as the years have gone by, more and more things have been added to the mix, so it can get a bit tricky when trying to decide whether to go or not. Here’s a rundown of the three big things: food and drinks, entertainment, and rides.

Food & Drinks

The State Fair is home to a wide variety of food ranging from fan favorites such as funnel cakes, chicken tenders, turkey legs, and pizza, all the way to newly added hot Cheeto burgers, apple fries, and Taki tots. As for beverages, they had classics like soda and lemonade but also some wacky ones like dill pickle lemonade and tie-dye smoothies.

Entertainment

Fairgoers would also find themselves in a place with multiple events. One of the most eye-catching experiences they had was the jet pack display they had in one of the park’s lakes, with a man on a car in the middle of the lake blasting music for everyone to hear. There were also the standard tightrope and circus events, and one of the best was Fire Guy’s performance. There were also concerts for guests to attend.

Rides

What’s a fair with no rides? Of course there are going to be rides! Some of the rides they had were: Rock’n’Roll, Zipper, Himalayan Bob Sleds, Ferris Wheels, inverted rides, roller coasters, bumper cars, and pendulum swings. And for those who wanted more of a scenic, laid-back type of ride, the skyline will be sure to fit those needs, along with the one and only Midway Sky Eye.

The State Fair has a plethora of sites and activities for anyone of any age to enjoy, whether you’re looking for a way to spend time with family, kick something off the bucket list, or have some alone time. Whatever the reason, you are sure to have an enjoyable time at the Florida State Fair.
