Damar Romeyelle Hamlin, 24-year-old American football player for the Buffalo Bills National Football League collapsed on Jan. 2. Being resuscitated on the field after making a tackle against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin’s marketing representative said “The Buffalo Bills safety still faces a lengthy rehabilitation some three weeks after going into cardiac arrest.”

Though his recovery is ongoing, it has gone remarkably fast for the circumstances. Discharged on Jan. 11, Hamlin spent nine days in total in a Cincinnati hospital. Where he was then transferred to a Buffalo medical center.

Doctors have not yet disclosed the exact cause of Hamlin going into cardiac arrest. further distinguishing it possibly was because of Commotion Cordis, a blunt force trauma injury to the heart.

“He still gets winded very easily,” said Jordan Rooney, a longtime friend and business partner of Hamlin. He has been able to visit family, friends, as well as teammates since his release.
