If you are a die hard baseball fan, you know that the month of October is dedicated to post-season baseball. Post-season leads up to a World Series being won by either a National League or American League team. This year, the match-up was between the Houston Astros of the American League and the Atlanta Braves of the National League.

This year, the Braves had a record of 88-73.

The Astros had a record of 95-67.

Chris Conboy, a baseball player here at Palmetto High says, “The best part of watching the World Series every year, specifically this year, the Braves only won 88 games and did not perform their best but yet they made it up to this point of being world champs.”

This 6 game match-up was a battle. The Braves winning 4 out of 6 games and the Astros winning 2 games.

Tyler GoForth, another baseball player here at Palmetto High says, “I am happy they won because I have always been a Braves fan.”

This is the first time in 26 years that the Braves have won a World Series.

Last world series win for the ATL was in 1995.

Tyler Goforth expressed the best part of watching the World Series every year is watching the two best teams in the NL and AL go head to head.

This World Series win is a hot topic in the sports world for sure!
