The well-known horror movie franchise, Scream, just got the newest addition to the lineup- Scream VI. 

The movie was released March 10, 2023. From start to finish, the movie keeps viewers hooked. It contains a perfect mix of every element that a slasher such as itself should have- twists, mystery, and tension- as well as some humor, lovable characters, and even some fourth wall breaks.  

One of the best aspects of the movie was how the legacy of the originals was so well preserved, while still incorporating new characters and new ideas. But it’s not a problem if you haven’t seen the previous movies- the storytelling is easy to follow, and the film does an amazing job recapping the prior events.  

Scream VI is the perfect movie for both the horror fanatic and the casual filmgoer. Although the brutal scenes in it may make it inappropriate for younger audiences, it can be argued that they just make it all the more exciting. This, combined with moments of suspense and tension, makes the viewer totally invested, from the opening scene to the last line. 

For those who haven’t seen it yet, a trip to the theater for Scream VI is definitely encouraged. It’s an experience that really should be enjoyed by everyone.
