The 2022 world cup was definitely one for the books. This game lasted from Nov. 20, 2022 through Dec. 18, 2022. The final game was Argentina vs. France, with Argentina taking the win with a 4-3 score.

This game is very popular with people all around the world routing for different teams and tuning in to see their team play. Alberto Lozano took some time to tell us about the team he was routing, he stated ” I was routing for Mexico, but sadly we didn’t make it far since we didn’t qualify for any of the finals. After Mexico, I didn’t have a specific team I was going for.”

A popular team a lot of people were routing for was Brazil, who sadly lost and left lots of people in shock since it was said to be Neymar’s last game. Chris Salva, a soccer player at PHS, stated “I was in school, my teacher put the game on, I sat and watched the whole game, up until they lost. Seeing Neymar upset was such a sad moment for me and many others.”

This World Cup was a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish. Anticipating all the wins and losses of each team, the real close scores, and having to watch someone make the winning goal, are just some of what made this year’s World Cup.
