Julian Edelman retires from NFL after New England Patriots end his contract. Julian Edelman announced on Monday that he is retiring from the NFL after 11 seasons, citing a knee injury that cut his 2020 season short after just six games. He says he will “leave the league after giving everything he had to the sport”. Julian Edelman announced his retirement via Instagram captioning “Foxborough Forever.” Edelman states that he wants to retire from football as his body isn’t allowing him to play anymore, and he wants to settle down and take care of his family. His best friend and the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) Tom Brady comments, “I’m proud of you Jules! You always had a huge chip on your shoulder and never stopped working hard!”
There has been some debate on if Julian Edelman should be in the NFL Hall Of Fame or not. Many analysts say “No” which has been agreed amongst many people following this continuous debate. However, Edelman only has 36 career touchdowns which when compared to other players is not very eye catching. Yet, there is the argument that he has over 1,000 yards receiving in the playoffs alone and 3 super bowl rings making him seem HOF material. At the same time though, there is the fact he has had no appearances. In all it seems like it may be a while longer before anything is truly decided.
