PHS Soccer

The Palmetto Highschool soccer team has been on a roll lately, as they are ranked number six in the nation and number two in the state. This is caused by their strong 13-1-1 record. The only team they lost to was Tampa Catholic who is also ranked top twenty in the country. In an interview when asked about the teams success, their head coach Ruii Fernadez said ” No one player has lead to our success, it has been a team effort. Many players have stepped up and had their shining moment through this run.” This is important because there are many variables when going on a championship run. The ability to have many players that make an impact allows for a lot of depth on a team. He also had a lot to say about the seniors on his team and how they were a large part of the teams success. He said ” Many people on this team are seniors and leaders, JD Reynolds is a quiet leader who leads through his play on the field and the leader they look to off the field is Luciano Calvillo.” This is huge because the bond of brothers on a team allows you to make runs. Hopefully this team makes the city proud. #GOTIGERS.
