On Friday, February 9th, Palmetto High School’s Varsity Basketball team said farewell to their four year player, Kenny Brown. The Tigers took on the Southeast High School Seminoles for senior night and won 80-71. In the first few minutes of the game, the Tigers were trailing behind the Seminoles, but came back to lead for majority of the rest of the game. Southeast’s center, Kameron Green, went up to block Kenny and came down hard on his left knee, possibly dislocating it. Even with the loss of Kameron, Southeast still put up a tough fight for the Tigers.
Kenny had one of the best games of the season that night, with a total of 35 points out of the Tigers 80. Kenny’s family was there to walk him down the court before the game started and cheered him on the whole night.
“It was a great way to end an interesting year. I am truly blessed to have been able to give the program four years of my contributions,” said Brown.
The Tigers will take on the Manatee High School Hurricanes Monday night at Palmetto for the first round of districts.
